The 40-MB-70-34 is a device that allows two SharkRack computer cabinets that are 70" high to be attached side by side.
MultiBay kits are particularly useful for configurations that require redundant connected systems that need to fail-over immediately. The cabling connections in these configurations often require these systems to be directly wired to each other. This requires Systems Administrators to remove the side panels of the computer cabinets and then cable through the openings. This can create rather unattractive and messy-looking environments.
Enter the 40-MB-70-34. This unit connects the computer cabinets and increases their stability. The 40-MB-70-34 also enhances the aesthetics of the environment and allows for an overall cleaner presentation. The 40-MB-70-34 is comprised of a series of "L" shaped brackets and a faceplate. To install the 40-MB-70-34, users must first remove the side panels, then install the L brackets in the same holes where the panels would normally go. The computer cabinets can then be slid next to each other and screws applied to the face panels of the 40-MB-70-34. This flexible system of installation does not require computer cabinets to be emptied, in most cases, before they can be ganged together. Systems administrators are very pleased to hear this. Another very nice feature about this system is that the combination of L brackets and faceplate allows each cabinet to remain on its own 24" floor tile.
